In 2008, she debuted as a Bharathanatym soloist to critical acclaim. Since then, she has as a Bharathanatyam soloist travelled and performed extensively across India, China, USA, UK, and Bhutan gaining widespread appreciation as well as several awards including a National award.
On November 9th 2018, she celebrates the one decade milestone with traditional and original solo choreographies that showcase her technical and emotive prowess as well as her creative visions in the Classical idiom.
Born and raised in Bangalore, India, Anvi is a dancer/choreographer, visual artist, writer, actress and filmmaker based in London on an exceptional talent endorsement by Arts Council England and is represented by Nic Knight Management.
The evening will see original choreographies that stretch the boundaries of both technique and concept. Among these, the piece ‘Prakriti Namana’ is an ode to the energy of the sun depicted through the grand procession of nature, a reimagining of the traditional 'Mallari' (temple procession rituals). ‘Draupadi’s soliloquy’ is a brand new piece that draws upon the dialogue and dramatic elements of the dance form to delve into the fiery female character of Draupadi; while ‘Bliss’ demonstrates an ingenious attempt at the confluence of two major poetic traditions of the world - Bhajans (devotional lyrics of Hinduism) and Sufism (songs of Islamic mysticism)
